Founder of Medicine Horse Ranch, Alyssa Aubrey, Talks About New Scientific Horse Study.
Founder and Executive Director of Medicine Horse Ranch, Alyssa Aubrey reveals that a new scientific study validates what she and others who work with horses have known about the sensitivity and ability horses have of accurately reading and mirroring human emotions.
TOMALES, CA – July 15, 2017 – Alyssa Aubrey, Founder of Medicine Horse Ranch and co-author of the best-selling book, The Road To Success, recently posted a new blog on her website entitled, “New Study Proves What We Know About Horses From Experience.” Ms. Aubrey clearly doesn’t need science to prove what she already knows through experience, though she is understandably welcoming of the validating information.
Aubrey points out that, “The profession of Equine Guided Education (EGE) is founded upon the fact that horses sense and perfectly mirror human emotions.” She continues to elaborate, “Those of us who work with horses on a daily basis are attuned to all the subtle nuances of the horse’s behavior. We know from years and years of experience that horses are more in touch with human emotions than most of the humans who have them. And, now, I’ve just read about a recent study that establishes this fact scientifically.”
Aubrey shares the findings, “According to an article posted on theatlantic.com it has been shown that, “Horses can read human emotions, often in uncannily accurate ways,” thereby as the article asserts, “alerting us to our sadness or nervousness, sometimes before we’ve even consciously registered it.” (https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2016/02/how-horses-read-human-emotions/471264/?utm_source=atlfb)
“In fact,” writes Aubrey, “horses know when there is illness in a human sometimes before the human does. I experienced this when working with a woman several years ago.” She continues adding, “When the herd came near her, every single horse immediately went to the ground. I knew something was terribly wrong, but I didn’t know what. I asked the participant if she had any health issues. She said that she wasn’t aware of any health problems. However, she was so affected by the horses’ behavior that when the weekend workshop was over she scheduled an appointment with her doctor. The appointment revealed she had breast cancer. Fortunately, she found it early enough to save her life.”
